People with disabilities represent a significant and largely underutilized resource for businesses. Many disabled persons are underemployed or unemployed. As a result of advocates for diversity, as well as a shrinking labour pool, employers are taking a serious look at hiring and retaining people with disabilities.
Disability courses online consist of the following units:
Unit 1 – What are Disabilities
Unit 2 – Accessibility
Unit 3 – Encouraging Diversity by Hiring
Unit 4 – Communication Essentials for Disability Awareness
As disability awareness has become a legal requirement in the workplace, it is no longer an issue the responsible manager can ignore. The better you understand disability awareness and importance of diversity, the more capable and authoritative you become as a manager. Completion of this course will ensure that you stand out as a proactive, responsible and committed professional. In addition, you will also be in a much better position to both comply with the relevant legislation and make disability awareness work for your business. Employees at all levels could also do with improving and enhancing their own understanding of disability awareness.
At the end of this course successful learners will receive a Certificate of Achievement from the Quality Licence Scheme and a Learner Unit Summary (which lists the components the learner has completed as part of the course).
