Module 1 - Project Management - An Introduction

The course begins with a detailed exploration of project management as a concept, along with the specific duties and responsibilities of project management personnel.  Several fundamental project management principles are introduced, along with the basics of the project life cycle and several helpful tools for more effective project management.

Module 2 - Stages of the Project Life Cycle

A more detailed exploration of the project lifecycle follows in the second module, examining each of its core components individually.  Learners study effective project planning, project execution, project monitoring and project closure in-depth, along with the role each element plays in the successful completion of projects.

Module 3 - What is Project Integration Management?

Module three explores the functions and objectives of project integration management, discussing effective techniques for bringing various processes together harmoniously.  The inevitability of trade-offs in project integration management is also discussed, along with an introduction to project budgeting and initial project scope assessments.

Module 4 – What is Project Scope Management?

Candidates then explore the concept of project scope management, which concerns processes and procedures to ensure all required work (and nothing more) is included in the project.  Learners examine the creation of a professional scope statement, the importance of an effective scope management plan and tips for its successful implementation.

Module 5 - Steps for Project Time Management

The value of proactive time management and the prioritisation of tasks are explored in module five, which also guides candidates through the process of creating a viable project schedule.  Several essential time management tools and techniques are discussed, alongside the consequences of procrastination and general inefficiencies.

Module 6 - The Basics of Project Cost Management

Budgeting basics are brought back into discussion in module six, in which learners explore the art of effective project cost management.  The process of accurately estimating project costs is discussed, along with the objectives of a cost management plan and several common challenges in accurately and consistently controlling project costs.

Module 7 - Project Quality Management Processes

Module seven explores the responsibilities of the project manager, with regard to quality control and consistency at each stage of the project.  Candidates learn how to work with flowcharts and other quality management tools.

Module 8 - Project Human Resource Management

The creation of roles and effective allocation of duties is explored in module eight, which examines key HR management considerations in successful project management.  Organisational planning and calculating manpower requirements are also touched upon, along with the importance of effective leadership in all aspects of project management.

Module 9 - Effective Project Communication Management

The functions and objectives of a communication management plan are presented and discussed in the ninth module.  Additional subtopics introduced include communication modalities, how to identify communication requirements in project management and the importance of strategic communication planning.
